Hello Church Family and Friends,
Rachel Huggins here, ready to report on what’s happening and developing with our Costa Rica Summer Exposure Team! We have officially been meeting every other week since the last week of January and God is already doing BIG things. We’ve had the opportunity to hash out details and theology in regards to fundraising, partake in some team bonding and building activities, and have been digging deeper into the theology and heart of missions. We’ve been praying through and reading Scripture in relation to mission and have pulled away with some solid truth. Our team’s “theme verse” is Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” God’s heart to reach the nations through His people is central to the gospel and we are excited to be a small part of God’s bigger picture.
Just today we were able to meet at THE North Campus (little Fig Campus girl speaking) and spent time-sharing “Our Stories.” It was such a great time of sharing and being vulnerable. Our team was able to truly connect on a deeper level as we each broke down our own walls and rested in God’s grace and faithfulness. He has walked with all of us in different ways, but His unconditional and radical love has penetrated all of our lives in meaningful and impactful ways to bring us to this point. Jesus is on the move in so many ways within our team and I can’t wait to see what else He has is store for us!
Fundraising is also off to a good start. We have events coming up and would greatly appreciate any support we can get. Please consider partnering with us at the Wednesday night service at North Campus on April 22 at 6:30pm as we “Pass the Plate” and take up a special offering to help fund our trip. Also, we now have a public Facebook page that you can follow. So please JUMP ON BOARD! Follow us, pray for us and support us. We’ll take all we can get and are so overwhelmed already with the love and support that has been coming our way!
